We're celebrating our second Christmas as roommates this year! It's been a whirlwind since we moved to Philadelphia last December: meeting new friends, finding new jobs, and adding a sweet little cat to our family to name a few highlights. This year we set our phones aside and spent the day together doing Christmas-y things. We wandered the tree farm, made hot chocolate, and decorated our beautiful tree. After watching JTT's 'I'll Be Home For Christmas' (a real classic) we made the cats some matching turtleneck sweaters, set up the tripod, and attempted to shoot our first holiday card. Enjoy it below, and have a happy and healthy holiday!
I shot some products for a round up of the best technology on the Urban Outfitters blog. I took most of the shots at Front Street Cafe because the cats had too much fun chasing the drone around our apartment. I shot with Love Me Do Photography this summer and it was such an awesome experience. In June, I accompanied Amanda to a very intimate wedding just outside of Philadelphia. Lee and Megan were married on Lee's parents' land, a beautiful farm with horses and plenty of scenic backdrops. They had a small ceremony next to the barn where the dinner took place later in the evening (think every Pinterest barn dinner you have ever wished for.) From colorful arrangements dotted throughout the property to the very cool, very vintage wagoneer they drove off in, it was all in all a perfect day.
I had the pleasure of photographing one of my longtime childhood friend and her fiancee (along with their adorable dog, Oliver!) Ashley and Brian have been dating since middle school and are set to be married in June. They were visiting Philly for the day and we wanted to find a spot with color, so when I stumbled upon the 52nd St Septa Station we were in luck. Ash and Bri are two genuinely beautiful people inside and out, and watching them grow as a couple throughout the years has been inspiring. Congratulations to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Strouse!
Paris is such a beautiful city. The tragedy that has struck in the past week has been heartbreaking. I was fortunate enough to visit this past July and experience Bastille Day. We sat in the Champs de Mars all day until the fireworks started. We were surrounded by Parisians that offered us wine and great conversation. When the sounds of orchestra started to swell and the Eiffel Tower lit up in red white and blue, everyone applauded. To see the people come together to celebrate their independence was truly amazing. Here's to the resilient people of France.
This is the week of a childhood friend's wedding. Deane grew up down the street from me. After years of watching him grow into a talented and basically the most awesome person ever, we reconnected after both moving to Philadelphia. Deane met Rachel a few years ago and when we were first introduced, she greeted me with a big hug, beaming smile, and charming wit. I knew Deane found his other (better) half ;)
They asked me to do their engagement photos in the spring back in our hometown. I am happy to share some more photographs to celebrate this week! I can't wait to see you two tie the knot!
I recently took a trip to California to attend Mike's cousin's wedding. I haven't been to the west coast in almost ten years and was really looking forward to seeing that side of the country once again. Although the drought is taking a toll on the countryside, the landscapes were still gorgeous. I limited myself to only a few hours a day with my camera, which was a welcomed change. Some highlights included driving around Bodega Bay (where The Birds was filmed), walking through Redwood National Park, and of course playing with our house cat, Bob.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in the scenic outskirts of Philadelphia. When I began kindergarten, I met someone who would become my longest and best friend. From dance recitals to soccer tournaments, family parties to traveling around the world, we were pretty much inseparable. So needless to say, my first post is as personal as it gets. My beautiful best friend, Laura, just recently gave birth to her first son. These are photos I took of Laura and her lovely family before they welcomed their newest bundle of joy.
